Qianhong Wu is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Villanova University.  He is the director and founder of the Villanova Cellular Biomechanics and Sport Science Laboratory.

Dr. Wu received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), P.R. China in 1993. He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Institute of Electrical Engineering, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1999. He then received his Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Biomedical engineering in 2004 and his Ph. D in 2005, both from The City College and Graduate Center of The City University of New York, under advising of Drs. Sheldon Weinbaum and Yiannis Andreopoulos. His thesis was about Lift generation in soft porous media; from red cells to skiing to a new concept for a train track. After joining Villanova in 2005, Dr. Wu continued to pursue his interests in cellular biomechanics, porous media flow, and fluid dynamics. He founded Villanova Cellular Biomechanics and Sports Science Laboratory (CBMSS) and has published extensively in his research field.

The classes that Dr. Wu teaches at Villanova University include Undergraduate Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Freshman Mini-Project Design, as well as Graduate level class on the Transport Phenomenon in Biological Systems.
