RECENT NEWS

Tom Gacka attended The American Physical Society 64th Annual Meeting of the Division of Fluid Dynamics from November 20th to 22nd, 2011, in Baltimore, MD. He gave an oral presentation about a paper entitled "From Red Cells to Soft Porous Lubrication?" The presentation received very positive feedbacks. Dr. Wu attended the conference and presented another paper entitled "How to Model the Lift Generation in a Highly Compressible Porous Media?"

Robert Crawford was awarded Villanova University College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Award for his outstanding achievements in graduate research at CBMSS. He is the only recipient of this distinguished award.

Robert Crawford has received a full fellowship to receive his PhD. at the University of Texas in Austin

Robert Crawford represented the lab and presented papers at the third International Conference on Porous Media and its Applications in Science, Engineering and Industry. His work received very positive feedback and he was awarded by the organizing committee $1450 to cover part of his conference fee.

Vincent Baro, after spending two and a half years to help develop CBMSS, joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware to pursue his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering

Angela Anqi Wu and Julia Anxin Wu were born on May 14th, 2010 and are some of the newest members of the lab.

Within the past year, Dr Wu stayed in China, where he was on sabbatical at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. While there he was invited to give multiple lectures and presentations regarding his research on Cellular Biomechanics and Sports Sciences.
